Flipper Rebuild Kit Notes:
  • Kits for earlier games are not available. Sorry, we do not carry individual flipper rebuild parts for any other games as most are no longer available or in extremely limited supply.
  • Earlier Williams games (Firepower (1980) through Comet (1985)) can use most parts from the early Bally/Williams kit (above) with some modification to the plastic plunger link. Some parts in the kit will not be used (such as coil stop) due to the one-piece flipper baseplate design in these earlier games. Click here for more details.
  • Bally/Williams kits do TWO flippers- one left side, and one right side. If your game has an odd number of flippers (one left, two right, etc), then you will need to buy an additional kit for the odd flipper (we do not sell half-kits and cannot split-up kits).
  • Data East, Sega, and new Stern kits really are that expensive- more than twice the cost of Bally/Williams kits. Sorry- that's just the way they've always been. One Data East kit does ONE flipper- either a left, or a right. So you will need TWO Data East kits to rebuild TWO flippers. Sega and new Stern kits are sold individually- left or right.
  • WE DO NOT PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE or instructions for rebuilding your flippers. For help, see the repair guides at: www.marvin3m.com/fix.htm, or if in our local area, we can do the work for you- see our Pinball Service & Repair page for more info!
  • Not sure which kit you need? E-mail us and we can tell you!

Flipper Assemblies and Baseplates:

Flipper Assembly, Bally/Williams Games
Complete baseplate and mechanism assembly for left or right side flippers- as used on Bally/Williams games. Direct replacement for flippers on games from approx. 1986-up. Will also replace earlier flipper assemblies from 1979-1985.

These units are great for replacing/upgrading old obsolete flipper assemblies on older games and games from other manufacturers (Stern, Game Plan, Bally, etc) where old original replacement parts are impossible to find. See our Flipper Assembly Upgrade article on our Technical Articles page for info on fitting these flipper assemblies on an older game.

Flipper bat/shaft and coil not included- order flippers separately below, or coils from our Electronic Parts page- depending on the color of flippers you prefer, and type of coil your game uses. Any of the long coils (approx. 2 inch) can be used on this unit, including Data East 090-5020-30 & 090-5032-00, Bally/Williams FL-11753, FL-11722, FL-11630, FL15411, FL11629, FL17636, Williams SFL-19-400/30-750-DC, SFL-23-600/30-2600-DC. Short flipper coils on older games can be used on this assembly as well, but it requires you to move the front coil mounting bracket back, and drill/tap new screw holes for it, to accomodate the shorter coil. Modifications like this are done at your own risk.

This baseplate design includes and uses most parts in the Bally and Williams flipper rebuild kits listed above, plus flipper bushing, nuts, screws, rubber bumper, and front coil plunger guide/bracket. Ready to "plug and play"!

Flipper Springs:
Flipper Coil Plunger Return Spring: 87¢ ea
Part # 266-5047-00
Standard plunger return spring for most makes and models of older games that use a single spring around the coil plunger for the "return spring" on flipper assemblies and other similar devices. Ideal for use on Bally games up to 1980, Williams games up to 1986, and many other makes and models using similar designs. Replacement for Bally # SP-200-19, SP-200-175, SP-200-180, SP-200-189, SP-200-196, SP-200-212, Williams # 10-128 and # 10-135, and Data East/Sega/Stern # 266-5047-00.

Can also be used on other similar devices on most games- pop bumpers, kicker bumpers, ball kick-outs, etc.
Flipper Coil Plunger Return Spring, Tapered: 79¢ ea
Part # 266-5020-00
Similar to above standard spring, but this spring has a very slight taper to it on one end, making it an ideal replacement, or upgrade, to standard coil plunger springs on flippers on older games.
Flipper Coil Plunger Return Spring, Tapered: 69¢ ea
Part # 10-404
Large tapered coil spring for flipper coil plunger. As used on Williams games from 1980-1991 (Firepower through Hurricane), and Bally games 1989-1991 (Atlantis through Gilligan's Island). Original equipment. Part # 10-404. Also replaces # 10-376.

NOTE: We recommend replacing this spring with the newer-style side-mounted spring (10-364, below) whenever possible. The tapered 10-404 spring has a tendency to "eat" into the plastic flipper plunger link over time, which can inhibit the smooth operation of the flipper, robbing it of strength and causing sluggish operation. Williams switched to the 10-364 side-mount spring in 1992 which has proven to be a much better design.
Flipper Return Spring, Side-Mount: 75¢ ea
For Bally/Williams games.
Part # 10-364
Small side-mounted return spring for Bally/Williams games 1991-up. Can also be used on earlier games to replace 10-364 spring, with some modifications to other parts for mounting as required.
Flipper Coil Return Spring, Side-Mount: $1.13 ea
For Data East, Sega, and new Stern games.
Part # 265-5035-00
Replacement side-mounted flipper return spring for late-model Sega and modern Stern pinball games. This spring returns the flipper to it's "low" or "rest" position, and connects between the flipper crank/pawl, and end-of-stroke switch mounting tab. Commonly broken or worn-out on used games. Grab a few for emergency spares! Replaces Data East # 266-5002-00 and Sega/Stern # 265-5035-00.

Flipper Bushings:
Flipper Bushing- Bally/Williams Games (late): $1.55 ea.
For Williams games 1980-1999, Bally games ~1989-1999.
Part # 03-7568
For early solid-state Williams games (Firepower (1980) and up) and late-model Bally/Williams games (approx. 1989-up). This bushing mounts to the one-piece flipper "baseplate" (B-13104-x, C-8231-x, or C-16103-x) and uses screws and nuts (below) for securing to baseplate. Replacement for factory part #03-7568. Old original bushings are often cracked or broken on most games. They keep your flippers centered properly- from side to side, and up/down. Loose, broken, cracked, or otherwise worn out bushings can cause flippers to be sloppy, lose strength, and possibly contact the playfield surface, causing premature wear. If rebuilding your flippers, don't forget new flipper bushings!

For Bally games made before mid-1989, please consult your game manual to verify part number.

See the Hardware section above for new nuts and screws to mount your new bushings!
Flipper Bushing- Williams Games (early): $2.50 ea.
For games from Laser Ball (1979) and earlier.
Part # 03-6014
For older electro-mechanical Williams pinball games and early solid-state models up through, and including Laser Ball (December 1979). This is the taller design used on older individual-component-style flipper assemblies which use three studs mounted in the playfield to secure the bushing to the playfield wood.

See the Hardware section above for new nuts to mount your new bushings!
Flipper Bushing- Sega/New Stern Games $2.25 ea.
Part #545-5594-00
For late-model Sega and new Stern pinball games. Stern part # 545-5594-00.

See the Hardware section above for new nuts and screws to mount your new bushings!
Flipper Bushing- Data East Games: $2.50 ea.
Part #545-5070-00
For Data East pinball games. Part # 545-5070-00. Correct replacement part with two notches on the edge, specifically made to fit Data East games. If repairing your flippers, don't forget to install new flipper bushings! (Flipper bushings are included with Data East flipper rebuild kits listed above.)

  • Click here for measurements/dimensions of this part.

See the Hardware section above for new nuts and screws to mount your new bushings!
  • Flipper Bushing Nuts/Screws: $1.00 per bag (12 pcs)
    Part # HWRKIT2
Set of 6 nuts and 6 screws for use on most makes and models of games that use machine screws to attach the nylon flipper bushing (above) to metal flipper baseplate. Can be used on early (1980-up) Williams, and late-model Bally/Williams games (1989-up), as well as all Data East, Sega, and new Stern pinballs. This set of 12 pcs. will do two flipper bushings (3 nuts/screws per bushing). Nuts are often missing on most games, and occasionally screws can be stripped or broken off, or missing as well. If rebuilding or repairing your flippers, be sure to replace the nuts and screws on the bushing for a complete job, and added reliability!

EOS Switch Capacitor / Spark Suppressor: $2.50 each

Secure to mounting tab on flipper assembly using 4-inch nylon cable tie.
Coil Plunger Nyliner Bushing: $1.99 each
    Part # 20-8790-2
Plastic 'nyliner' bushing used in Bally/Midway/Williams games during the early through mid 1980's. This bushing goes on the front bracket/guide for the coil plunger, on "linear" flipper designs that use a single coil plunger and no linkage between the plunger and crank (Eight Ball Deluxe, Xenon, Medusa, Flash Gordon, and many others) Helps keep the plunger centered in the guide and coil. Commonly worn, broken, or missing part on many games.

    Replaces Williams # 20-8790-2, Bally # C-537-8, and Midway # 0017-00042-0418.
