Attack From Mars is a modern classic pinball game designed by Bally's famous designer Brian Eddy, who was also involved with the design of other such popular classics as Medieval Madness, Funhouse, Indiana Jones, and The Shadow, just to name a few. It definitely has something for everyone, from the most skilled pinball "wizards" to the casual player or enthusiast alike. It is one of the most popular and collectible pinball machines to come from the Bally/Williams pinball plant during the late 1990's, and one of the "all-time greats" from the last "golden era" of pinball before Bally/Williams went out of business in 1999. A relatively low number of Attack From Mars games were produced, and as popular and fun to play as the game has been, most have suffered a tremendous amount of use and wear/tear over the years, leaving even fewer good-or-better-condition games still around. One of our all-time most requested games, we're very proud to be able to offer an exceptionally good model of this highly-collectible and sought-after pinball machine.
Defeat the Martians during their multitude of attack waves on the cities of Earth and chase them back home for a defeat to make yourself "Ruler of the Universe"! Not as easy as it sounds, but you'll sure have fun trying! You'll find that this game will not only keep you on your toes and coming back for challenge after challenge, but will also keep you doubled-over with laughter! Soundtrack contains a host of hilarious characters, quips, and one-liners with great background music which really enhance every aspect of game play.
Shoot for the flying saucer to destroy it and defeat the Martians' attack wave! Lock balls for one of many crazy Multiball modes (this game is LOADED with them!) Can you get the famed "Strobe Light Multiball" mode? This is a unique mode where all of the playfield lights go dark and the only light is the bright strobe from the mothership flying saucer! This mode will keep you on your toes!
Shoot the kickout scoop to collect random awards including the FUN VIDEO MODE, EXTRA BALL, BALL LOCKS, and more.
Attack From Mars is known and loved for it's fun, humorous game play, fantastic smooth sweeping shots, great playfield mechanical animation, and speech, sounds, music, and sound effects that amuse and entertain, over and over again. Add Attack From Mars to your pinball collection and it will be the favorite for years to come!

List of New Parts on This Game:
A lot of large and small parts are typically replaced anytime a game is fully restored like this one, and this list may not reflect all of the actual parts used in the process, so should be considered an incomplete or "partial" list. Shipping/freight costs for obtaining many of the parts listed below may also not be included, so would be considered additional costs invested.
$90.00 value: New "Cliffy" stainlesss steel protector set, including extra piece above elevating 3-bank targets.
$12.80 value: New protective Mylar pieces added in front of kick-out scoop, below ramp drop areas, around rollover switches, and above flippers area.
Protective fender washers added under top and bottom edges of slingshot plastics to protect against damage.
Kickout scoop and elevating 3-bank target unit have had custom stainless steel "Cliffy" protectors installed to help prevent wear to hole edges (common wear/problem spot on Attack From Mars games).
Score/instruction cards reproduced and hard-laminated for best look and protection.
"Tech info" chart in main cabinet reproduced and hard-laminated for great looks and durability/protection.
Remote-mount battery kit installed for MPU board to prevent potential damage to board from on-board batteries leaking. Batteries now located off-board to avoid this potential problem.
Playfield- restoration complete and fully reassembled.
Playfield- lower area- flippers and slingshot bumpers. Flippers are brand new NOS factory original parts which feature the correct "W" Williams logo. Some minor touch-up work was done to the girl's leg above the left flipper, and some protective Mylar installed over this entire area to help protect against future wear/tear. Note also the protective fender washers installed under the slingshot bumpers (top and bottom edges) to protect the valuable plastics against chipping and breakage from errant airborne pin balls.
Playfield in this high-traffic area is in gorgeous condition- very well preserved. Only blemishes appear to be factory-original- some light separation of the original clearcoating over the "5-Way Combo" and "Shoot Again" light inserts (lenses) which appear as light discolorations in this photo. New protective ball drop Mylar pieces have been installed over the rollover lane slots in the left and right inlanes.
Detail- lower playfield- flippers/center area.
Detail- lower playfield- left martian and targets. All four 'Martians' on this game are original and in great shape and have been fully cleaned/restored during the restoration, including repainting of their teeth and eyes! Note the new hardware installed on top of the wireform ramps and plastics- new nylock nuts to retain plastic and metal parts- all throughout the playfield for a like-new look!
Detail- lower playfield- right martian and targets.
Detail- center playfield area.
Detail- upper left playfield area. Large "mothership" saucer over the center 3-bank targets is brand new.
Detail- upper right playfield- kickout scoop, right ramp, and right orbit lane entrances. Kickout scoop assembly has been fully rebuilt, including installation of custom 'Cliffy' stainless steel hole protectors (front and back sides) to help prevent against future playfield wear/tear. A new Mylar piece has been installed over the light inserts (lenses) in front of the kickout scoop to prevent against future wear/tear from balls being ejected from scoop (common wear area on most Attack From Mars games). This game has been fortunate to have NO worn-through areas in front of the kickout scoop (very rare). Only a few small spots around the edges of one or two light inserts were touched up during the restoration, and before the protective Mylar was applied.
Upper left corner area of playfield. Note brand new 'mothership' saucer installed (with correct white nylon mounting screws!) Left ramp assembly seen here- all ramp assemblies on this game have been fully removed, disassembled into all individual parts, cleaned, restored, and rebuilt. They once again look like new!
Mothership saucer assembly has also been fully rebuilt and restored including full tear-down and cleaning of all parts, cleaning and testing of the xenon strobe lamp assembly under the saucer, and full rebuild from front to back- it again looks and works just like new!
Playfield- upper right corner area. Top (exit) of center ramp, right ramp, rollover lanes, and pop bumper areas seen here. All 3 pop bumpers have been fully rebuilt including brand new red skirts and white bodies. The custom 1.13B game ROM software installed in this game controls the pop bumpers differently which helps preserve the red pop bumper skirts- these were often chewed up and chipped/broken on most games using regular production software (version 1.0), but the 1.13B software handles the activity of the pop bumpers differently to help avoid this previous problem.
Playfield- closeup of center target/saucer area. This is the main "flying saucer" shot, with 3-bank of red targets in front. Red targets raise and lower during game play, blocking or allowing entrance to the drop target and scoop under the flying saucer. Note brand new stainless steel 'Cliffy' protectors installed in front of the 3-bank targets to protect the playfield wood edges here. We also purchased and installed a separate protector for the back edge of the 3-bank opening to help protect it (not normally included in the protector set). A protector is also installed around the hole and drop target above the 3-bank targets, and new protectors have also been installed on the front and back edges of the kick-out scoop at the right of the photo. All nice finishing touches to this high-end restoration that not only look great but also help protect and preserve the playfield against wear/tear.
Both green standup targets seen here are also brand new. Elevating 3-bank target assembly has been fully rebuilt including a full rebuild of all moving parts, removal/cleaning of the red targets with new foam target back pieces installed and entire unit aligned/adjusted for proper operation.
Underside of playfield- lower section. Fully reassembled- after restoration. Playfield has been fully stripped of all parts (top and bottom sides) during restoration. Playfield underside sanded and refinished to restore original wood finish. All parts and components (including wiring harness) cleaned, rebuilt, and restored before being reassembled. Note fully rebuilt flipper assemblies with brand new parts including new flipper coils. Also fully restored ball trough and components and cleaned lamp and driver PC boards with solder re-flowed and reinforced on connector pins for added strength and reliability. Slingshot bumper assemblies, ball trough assembly, Martian coil assemblies, and all other assemblies and hardware have been fully removed, overhauled, cleaned, rebuilt, and reassembled. They once again look and work like new!
Underside of playfield- lower and mid-section.
Underside of playfield- top of playfield portion. Rebuilt target bank motor assembly, kickout & ball lock scoops, divertor assembly, and pop bumper units.

A brand new remote-mount battery kit has been installed for the MPU board. This gets the batteries off the board and away from it so that the valuable board will not be damaged should the batteries ever go neglected and leak (common cause of dead MPU boards in many games- old and new). Game ROM chip on MPU board and main sound ROM chip on audio/video board have both been upgraded to latest 1.13B custom "home" version (game rom) and 1.1 version (sound rom). All fuses on all boards have been checked for proper values. A brand new dot-matrix score display unit has been installed so the display has a crisp, clear picture with no "burn in" marks. All areas of the backbox interior have had parts/components removed and have been fully cleaned to restore original appearance.
