Ali is a tribute to world boxing champion Muhammed Ali and his legendary career. In a period where pinball games were being produced in numbers of 10,000 and more, this game was only produced in just under 3,000 units, so is considered fairly scarce and not as easy to find as most games of this era. This game features a "classic" style playfield layout with 2 flippers, 3 pop bumpers, kickout saucers, 2 banks of drop targets, a spinning target, and standup targets. Great sound and lighting effects are also built into this game and with it's recent overhaul, upgrades, and reconditioning, really add to the fast-paced, exciting play. All the makings of a great pinball game for the beginning player, or experienced pinball "wizards" alike.

Game Condition:

Overall: This particular game came to us on a trade-in from a local customer who we serviced the game for for several years. He acquired the game well over 20 years ago, so it only saw a few years of commercial/arcade use before going into his home gameroom, where it stayed ever since. So this game is a very low-mileage and well-preserved example of a game from this popular era in pinball history- truly a rare case.

This game is very clean inside and out, and does not have any damage from spilled drinks/liquids, or any of the nasty cigarette smoke smell, as is common in so many used pinball games. The interior of the cabinet & backbox, and underside of the playfield are the give-away- both unusually and exceptionally clean throughout, indicating far less than average use for a used vintage pinball game.

Playfield: Playfield on this game is in fantastic condition from top to bottom and has been very well preserved over the years. Only a few tiny signs of wear/tear and use can be found on this playfield, and it still retains a smooth, shiny look to it's original finish just as it did decades ago. Only a tiny bit of wear was present around some of the light bulb "inserts" or "lenses" on the playfield, from normal use- in the black surrounding areas- which was easily touched-up on all light inserts to restore the like-new look. A small spot of wear is present in front of the upper center kick-out saucer from where the ball lands after being ejected, but is minimal. All plastics on the playfield are in great shape with no blemishes, with the exception of one superficial crack in the top left piece above the upper kickout saucers, which is only visible on close inspection and does not go all the way through the plastic. Overall, this playfield retains a very "like new" appearance to it, based on it's lower-than-average amount of use from being in home use for the majority of it's life.

Cabinet & Backbox: Cabinet/backbox on this game are in great shape overall having had only a few tiny nicks and dings from less-than-average use and handling over the years. No fading of the cabinet artwork is apparent on this game- game still has an overall bright, fresh, colorful appearance from top to bottom, and appears very fresh-looking overall. Some light wear to the cabinet surface underneath each of the legs is present where they mount to the cabinet, but we have added new
leg protector pads and existing wear is not noticeable when the legs are installed on the game.

Coin door is in very good condition and complete, including coin mechanisms and all other parts. A new coin door lock has been installed, as well as a Credit Button decal, and all parts tested for proper operation.

Backglass: Backglass on this game is mostly in very good condition but does suffer from some common signs of older age which consist mainly of some flaking of parts of the artwork mostly near the lower bottom edge of the glass (see pictures below for details) and a bit of lifting in some of the black areas near the top of the glass as well. Overall, the glass looks good and is quite usable and presentable. Score displays are all bright and vibrant with no signs of flickering or burns or any missing digits and segments- all very healthy.

Here is a detailed list of work that has been done on this game, followed by more details on condition:

Cabinet/Backbox:

Description
Game overall view.
Cabinet- right side. The whole cabinet on this game really has a clean, straight, fresh appearance to it, based on it's below-average amount of use/handling and "home use" preservation over the majority of it's life.
Left side of main cabinet.
Cabinet front, and coin door. Coin door is in original condition on this game and overall very good condition. The coin chute "plate" or "bezel" looks like it may have been jimmied and bent along it's top edge a bit at some point in the past, so isn't quite in perfect condition, but still functional and not unsightly. Coin door includes new lock, keys, and new Credit Button decal, as well as coin mechanisms for coin play.
Backbox- backglass and right backbox side. A few tiny nicks are present on the sides of the backbox on this game from use over the years, but all are very minimal- really a well-preserved game for it's age.
Backbox- left side.
Backglass overall view. Some flaking of the artwork from age- mostly in the light blue areas- is present along the bottom edge of the glass. Also some slight lifting in the black areas. Aside from these imperfections, the majority of the glass is in fantastic shape and really looks great.
Close-up view of bottom edge of backglass.
Cabinet interior. Interior has been cleaned out and is in great shape throughout. Note that coin box & lid are missing from this game and are not include as part of the sale. Game can still be operated without coin box, but future owner may wish to locate and install a coin box if he/she so desires.
Backbox interior. Interior has been cleaned and all circuit boards inspected, tested, and upgraded including reflowed solder on connector pin joints on all displays and most circuit boards, as well as upgraded components and custom modifications to solenoid driver board for added reliability. Note new remote-mount battery kit installed for MPU board which gets the batteries off the board and avoids potential problems of batteries bursting/leaking and damaging the valuable circuit board.
