About The Game:
PLEASE NOTE: Arcade Legends is produced only as a home model game, which is "free play" and cannot be operated with coins. The "coin door" on the front of the game is for looks, and access to the computer system inside the cabinet only, and is not otherwise functional. If you are interested in a commercial, coin-operated game that is similar to Arcade Legends, ask us about the Ultracade system, available by special order.

Arcade Legends is produced by Chicago Gaming, Inc., manufacturers of home and commercial arcade pinball and video games. Chicago Gaming also produces the cabinets for Stern Pinball for their commercial coin-operated pinball games.

The Arcade Legends system features the UltraCade technology gaming system, which emulates the original video game programming code and brings it to life in a modern-day system. The look, feel, and sounds of the original games are emulated (not reproduced) from the original game code, so what you are seeing, hearing, and playing are the exact, original arcade games in all their glory!

You may have seen UltraCade coin-op video games in some arcades. UltraCade are manufacturers of their own coin-operated games that are run commercially in arcades and other commercial locations. UltraCade have licensed their technology to Chicago Gaming for the Arcade Legends system, under the agreement that Arcade Legends is produced, and used, only for home-use / free-play operation.

Arcade Legends is available in two models: the familliar "upright" model, similar to most coin-op arcade games, featuring two sets of controls on the control panel- for 1 or 2 players. And a "table-top" model, featuring two sets of controls- one on each end- also for use by 1 or 2 players.

The controls consist of two 8-way joysticks, a track ball, and two sets of six buttons. These controls (or combinations of them) allow any of the games in the system to be played- just like the original games.

Arcade Legends comes with 90 classic arcade games pre-installed- all in one game! Additional add-on game packs are available, separately, to add games to your Arcade Legends system. The system can be expanded up to 999 individual arcade games!

System controls can be accessed from the door on the front of the game, and consist of a self-test/diagnostic button for entering the adjustments/diagnostics system, and a CD-ROM tray and/or USB connection allowing for system upgrades and add-on game packs.

Add-On Game Packs:
NOTE: Since the release of Arcade Legends 2 in Fall of 2007, game packs for the original Arcade Legends are being discontinued and will not continue to be produced. Game packs for regular Arcade Legends will be available only while supplies last. These game packs are not compatible with the new Arcade Legends 2 system. Check with us for availablilty. Get them today before they're gone for good!

Separate "Add-On Game Packs" can be purchased and installed for adding games to your Arcade Legends system. The game comes from the factory with 90 pre-installed games, but the system can be expanded up to 999 individual games! Add-On Game Packs are easy to install- just plug the included USB memory key into the connector inside the game's front door, and follow the instructions.

Game packs listed below (except Standard Games which are pre-installed from the factory) are available separately for the Arcade Legends machine, by special order. See the Ordering Information section below, or contact us for further information.

New packs are always in production and being added periodically, so this listing and information will change from time to time.     NOTE: Manufacturer has informed us that one of the 3 games included in this pack may not be compatible with all models of Arcade Legends 1 (old vs. new models) and that customers may encounter a problem installing one of the 3 games. We have not run into this issue ourselves, but if you do have a problem with your Dragon's Lair pack, you can return it for a refund or replacement (if available), or we may be able to provide a discount if you wish to keep the other 2 games in the pack. Manufacturer suggests that the issue may be an incompatibility with an older computer system used in some Arcade Legends 1 models, but have not pinpointed the problem as yet.

    "How do upgrades work?"
    Upgrading your game to the latest operating system version simply updates the system software with any bug fixes/improvements, and also adds all of the latest games that shipped with the latest edition of Arcade Legends 1.

    If you already have a game on your system that also comes on the 3.0 System Upgrade (or any other add-on game pack), the upgrade procedure will not overwrite or duplicate the game you already have, but will simply add any and all games that you do not already have installed.

    Upgrade procedure is simple- simply insert the USB key or insert the CD-ROM that comes in the game pack or upgrade pack, follow the simple instructions that are included, and the game does the rest- automatically!

    Add-On Game Packs are special-order items, and are ordered directly from the factory. As special-order items, these must be paid for in advance, including any shipping/freight costs. There are no returns, exchanges, or refunds on Add-On Game Packs- all sales are final- no exceptions.

    Most Game Packs take approximately 1-2 weeks to get in stock. Occasionally the factory is sold out on some game packs, and they must be backordered. We will confirm price and availability for you, before you make your order, on any Game Pack.
