   Three classic games in one!

Ms. Pac-Man® Celebrates her Class of 1981 Reunion!

In honor of this outstanding vintage classic arcade game, Namco has designed a new Limited Edition Ms. Pac-Man "Class of '81" Reunion Edition. This model features all three classic games: Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man, and Galaga. The player simply selects which game they want to play at the start- during the Select Game Mode (Pac-Man requires special movement "code" from joystick- see below for details.)

And these are the original Namco games- not aftermarket remakes or "look-alikes"- all games are from the original programming code- so they look, play, and sound exactly the same as they did when they were created and released into the arcades over 20 years ago!

This modern re-release has several features not available in the original games:
  • Speed-Up Option for Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man: Game adjustment menu allows you to select standard speed or "fast" speed for Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man.
  • Rapid-Fire Option for Galaga: Game adjustment menu allows you to select standard fire, or rapid fire, for Galaga.
  • High Scores Saved: This modern release will now save your high scores on each of the three games, and won't lose them when game is turned off, like the original games did.
  • Game Continue Option: Game can be set to let you continue play after your regular game has ended, or go directly to game-over like original models did. Now you can reach those high levels you never could back in high school!
The cabinet screams "retro" with a little "edge" added for the current millennia! Cabinet construction and controls are all commercial "arcade" quality- the same as you see in the arcades. This game is a home-model version- exactly the same as the commercial coin-op model (same game, same quality) but does not have a functional coin door, so does not require coins for operation (game comes set on "free play").

Game Description:
For the first time, Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga, two of the industry's "Greatest Hits," are available in one dedicated cabinet. Regular Pac-Man, too! You get THREE games in one! These three games are unquestionably the longest running hits in the history of video games! After 20 years, they are still a "must have" for all locations.

The retro-style cabinet is a replica of the original Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man cabinets with a few exceptions: a 25" monitor now replaces the original 19" monitor, and home model games feature a faux coin door which provides access only to internal game controls- no coin mechanisms present or required- home model games are free-play only.

The exterior of the cabinet appears as a combination of the original games. One half of the cabinet features Ms. Pac-Man side panel graphics, while the other features Galaga graphics. The front of the cabinet, the marquee, control panel, and game instructions are a delightful blend of the two classics.

The game play is identical to the original versions, but this new model includes a number of new options for the owner/operator. Included are operator-selectable features such as "regular" or "speedy" Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Man, and "original" or "rapid fire" Galaga. Also included is a feature that did not exist 20 years ago — player buy-in (continued game) mode. This too is operator selectable. Players will have their choice of playing Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man, or Galaga. Although the original games still earn well for their age, we're confident that with all of the new features we've added, the 20-year reunion will be even better.

Why bring back these hits from the past? For the past few years, Namco's distributors have received comments from operators all over the USA about how well their Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man, and Galaga games continue to perform, but how beat up the hardware had become. Burned in monitors, trashed cabinets, unrepairable boards... Would it be possible for Namco to re-release the games that operators and home game room owners wanted so badly? Namco researched the project, and found that they were able to reproduce these classic games now with modern components that add greater quality, durability, and higher reliability than original games from over 20 years ago. Ms. Pac-Man, Pac-Man and Galaga together — it doesn't get any better than this!

Come celebrate the Class of 1981 with Namco!
These new models feature several "custom" menu-selectable options, not originally available on the original versions of these games:
  • Saves high scores for each game (even after turning power off)
  • Ability to clear/reset high scores
  • Free Play or Coin Play (free play only on home models)
  • Attract mode sound (on/off)
  • 1, 2, 3, or 5 Ms. Pac-Man or Pac-Man "lives" per game
  • 2, 3, 4, or 5 Galaga ships per game
  • Normal, or Hard difficulty selection for either game
  • Speed-up option for Ms. Pac-Man and Regular Pac-Man (on/off)
  • Rapid-Fire option for Galaga (on/off)
  • Normal or fast shot speed for Galaga
  • On-screen audit displays
  • On-screen switch tests
  • On-screen monitor alignment
  • Adjustable score for "extra life"
  • Adjustable coins per credit
  • Optional "Buy-in" feature allows player to continue play after game by adding extra coin(s) or using credits (on/off)
There are 1-Player and 2-Player Start buttons for both games. After the machine has been credited, you simply press the start button of the game you would like to play.

For Ms. Pac-Man and regular Pac-Man, eat all the dots on each level and avoid the ghosts. For Galaga, shoot the aliens, dodge their attacks and try to get perfects on the challenge stages for higher scores.

Secret Game: You even get a third game with this new model! It's the original version of Pac-Man! Namco originally "hid" this game in this machine with the other two, but you can activate and play regular Pac-Man as follows:

  • If game is on coin play, insert a coin(s) to add a credit.
  • Press any start button. The "start" screen will display, allowing you to choose Ms. Pac-Man or Galaga.
  • Make the following moves with the joystick:
    • UP, UP, UP
    • DOWN, DOWN, DOWN
    • LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT
  • If you did it right, you'll see Blinky- the red "ghost"- turn from red to pink ("Pinky"), and hear a corresponding series of tones from the game ("extra life" tone).
  • Press either 1 player or 2 player Ms. Pac-Man button to play regular Pac-Man. The regular Pac-Man game will display and play on the screen.
