White Water is undoubtedly one of the funnest games to come from Williams Pinball in the previous decade! This game is one of only a few made in the last quarter-century that has had TWO functional playfield levels- the main level, and an upper level! Game has THREE FLIPPERS total- two on the main playfield and one on the upper. This game probably holds the record for the most ramps used on a game! There are 6 physical ramps on the game (8 if you count the ball-launch wireform ramp, and under-playfield plastic ramp), with 8 separate ramp shots!
Some say the game belongs to Bigfoot- others say it's Wet Willy's game. We'll let you decide!
 | Watch out for Bigfoot! He sits waiting in the corner of the upper playfield! Shoot a ball past him and watch him come alive! Grunting, groaning, and turning his head to laugh at you as he knocks the ball away from him with the log in his hands- watch the ball slide down to the Whirlpool! |
|
| Advance your raft down the river to get to Wet Willy's River Ranch! It's no easy task! Shoot for the flashing river hazards to advance the raft. The farther downriver you get, the more hazards await! | |
|
 |
Send the ball to the Whirlpool and drop through to complete Whirlpool awards- everything from extra bonus points to Multiball! |
|
Shoot "Hot Foot" targets to distract Bigfoot and sneak the ball past him to his secret hidden cave! While he's dazed and confused, see how many times you can get the ball past him- the more times you can, the bigger the points!
Shoot "No Way Out" canyon to lock balls for THREE BALL MULTIBALL! Get all three balls up the Insanity Falls ramp which runs the FULL LENGTH of the left side of the playfield, and get TRIPLE JACKPOT POINTS!
Explore the Lost Mine for hidden treasure. See if you can find Wet Willy's "Secret Passage" tunnel. Hit Whirlpool targets to light the ball-save kickback in the left outlane. Shoot the ramp to the upper playfield for Multi-Million points!
Think you're good? Try completing all the features to capture the elusive Vacation Jackpot and play the game's "Wizard Mode" where EVERYTHING goes berserk! A daunting task that will challenge even the best of players!
The play is just half the game- it is packed with great sounds, music, funny voice clips and quotes, and the lively animated grunting Bigfoot character! Game also features a lively playfield with beautiful cartoon-type artwork, as well as matching backglass and cabinet artwork.
The fun never seems to end with this great action-packed game! This game definitely has something for everyone, from the most skilled pinball "wizards" to the casual player or enthusiast. Even though the multitude of rules and modes on this game will be more than enough to keep you busy, the game play is fun and straightforward enough to be entertaining and fun for any players, regardless of skill and age. These are the true signs of a well-designed pinball, and we're sure after a game or two, you'll agree!
Overall, it's no wonder why this game is such a classic. With so many fun things to do on the game, it will surely keep you entertained and always coming back for more!
Game Condition:
This particluar White Water game is in overall great shape inside and out. This game has actually come back in to us on a recent trade-in from a previous local customer who purchased it from us for in-home use about 5 years ago, so it has been well taken care of in it's non-commercial life. Prior to that, this game was re-imported back into the U.S. from Austria, where it spent its commercial life. So it has had all the necessary electrical conversions done to it and has also had the coin door set up for use with U.S. quarters (coin mechanisms and pricing tags) so can be used in any location in North America without any additional conversion of any parts.
This game probably received about average use for a popular, frequently-played game in the arcades before it came to us years ago, so has had a little more "mileage" on it, as many "top pinball titles" do, but we have given it an extensive reconditioning- everything from playfield cleaning and light bulb changing, to the rebuilding of the flippers, bumpers, and the installation of many brand new replacement parts- to make it work, look, and play as close to "new condition" as is possible.
Playfield: Playfield and associated parts on this game are in overall very good condition throughout- both upper and lower playfields. Playfields have been stripped, cleaned, polished, and waxed to restore original look and give maximum playability and appearance. Upper "mini" playfield was completely removed from the game during the restoration in order to properly get to all the lower playfield areas for reconditioning, and to fully recondition the upper field- top and bottom sides.
As one of the more popular pinball games from the early 1990's, this game has had about average play over its lifetime and does show a few signs of normal use, age, and "wear/tear", including some small spots of missing paint around some of the light bulb "inserts" or "lenses" on the lower playfield (see pictures below). Some small wear spots have been touched-up during the reconditioning to make them look like new again, including the common spot in front of the lower "Lost Mine" kickout, which has also been covered with protective Mylar to help prevent any future/recurring wear. Not the best White Water playfield we have ever come across, but far from the worst out there. Original factory Mylar covering is present on this game in the high-traffic pop bumper area for added protection, and has preserved the finish in this area as well.
Upper playfield still has it's original factory Mylar coating which has preserved the main areas of the playfield. A small "divot" was present on this playfield under the up-kicker from the lower playfield, where balls would land. We repaired this by installing a new custom-fit piece of PETG plastic in the lane where the balls come down from the up-kicker, which prevents further divoting and also prevents balls from getting stuck, while still retaining a professional "factory" look to the field.
Along with the rest of our standard playfield restoration processes we have also refinished all of the stainless steel ball rail guides so they have no "ball marks" and give a brand new appearance. A few of the ramps and plastic pieces on this game have been replaced with new parts, along with many other new and "NOS" original parts in many places throughout this game (see listing below).
Cabinet: Cabinet on this game could easily be rated at "far above average" condition for a game from the early 1990's which typically gets a lot of play and use. This game has no fading of the cabinet artwork, which is very common (and unsightly) on many used White Water games. It still has a bright, colorful, vibrant finish from top to bottom, and appears very fresh-looking. A few small nicks and scratches have been touched up to match the finish here and there, but no unsightly blemishes are present on this game.
Backbox and Backglass/Translite: Backbox is in great shape on this game, much like the main cabinet. A few small nicks have been touched up on either side, and the front edges and front interior edges of the backbox have been repainted with new blue paint to give a professional, new appearance- very nice and clean looking. Original backbox 3-D hologram "topper" or "marquee" on this game is still in place (missing on many White Water games), and has been cleaned/overhauled inside and out, including the protective clear plastic cover and the electronic flashing lamp boards mounted on the front edge. The protective metal bracket across the top edge has also been repainted to give a fresh, new appearance.
Translite (backglass artwork) behind the glass is in good shape on this game- still featuring bright, vibrant colors. A few small nicks have found their way on to the back side of the translite from normal use/handling over the years but nothing major. Backglass glass and translite, along with edge molding pieces, have all been removed and fully cleaned- front and back sides- for new, clean appearance. Speaker panel plexiglass cover is in great shape on the game with no apparent damage or blemishes- very nice piece.
Here is a detailed list of work that has been done on this game, followed by more details on condition:
- We have logged just over 50 hours in the restoration of this game.

- All light bulbs on top and bottom of playfield, and elsewhere in game, removed, cleaned, and replaced. Brand new light bulbs used as replacements for old worn, discolored, or burned out bulbs and flasher bulbs.
- All light bulb inserts (or "lenses") in playfield surface cleaned and polished for maximum shine and light penetration.
- Brand new chrome steel pinballs installed in game (game uses THREE total).
- Playfield flat plastics (screened artwork) all removed, cleaned, polished, and replaced. Slingshot bumper plastics replaced with brand new replacement pieces.
- Fender washers installed under top and bottom edges of slingshot bumper plastics to protect them from cracking/breaking from airborne balls.
- Standup targets on playfield (13 total) have been removed from game and fully cleaned- front and back- and replaced. Cracked or broken targets replaced with new targets.
- Score and instruction cards have both been reproduced for clean clear looks, and hard-laminated for durability, and to prevent against damage in the future- these look great!
- Technical info chart in main cabinet has been removed, and replaced with new chart, fully hard-laminated for durability and to protect against damage in the future (original chart was simply a plain piece of paper- new chart is hard-laminated and won't tear, discolor, or stain).
- Both slingshot bumper assemblies have had their detector switches removed and hand-cleaned with tarnish remover for nice bright brass shine!
- Inside and outside of main cabinet and backbox completely stripped of parts, cleaned, parts individually hand cleaned, and reassembled.
- Coin door completely removed and 100% disassembled. All parts (including wiring harness and switches) individually cleaned and detailed by hand and reassembled. Coin door metal parts professionally repainted and refinished for that brand new "day one" look! Fully working quarter coin mechanisms installed in coin door and tested for proper operation/adjustment.
- Playfield glass lockdown bar removed, cleaned, and reassembled. Brand new strip of insulating foam rubber applied to underside of lockdown bar.
- Brand new chrome legs installed on game- 4 total.
- Brand new leg levelers and nuts installed on all four legs.
- Brand new leg bolts installed.
- Brand new cabinet leg protector pads installed under legs for added good looks and protection against wear/tear to the cabinet corners.
- Solder joints on light bulb PC boards under playfield all reflowed and reinforced with fresh solder to prevent cracks and intermittent operation in the future.
- All electronics (PC boards) in backbox checked and tested for proper operation and good looks (no burned connectors, etc.) Fuses all removed, checked, and proper values verified- replaced where necessary.
- Remote-mount battery holder installed for MPU board in backbox. This prevents damage to the valuable MPU board from accidental battery discharge or leakage, which can destroy the board. Batteries are now mounted off-board and risk of damage is eliminated. Brand new fresh batteries installed.
- Playfield glass replaced with brand new scratch-free sheet of tempered safety glass.
- Backglass translite (artwork) removed and glass cleaned/polished (both sides). Translite cleaned/polished (both sides). All lamps cleaned or replaced. Molding pieces cleaned and reassembled.
- Bigfoot assembly on upper playfield fully removed and broken down in to each individual component. Cleaned, refurbished, rebuilt, and reinstalled.
- Upper playfield completely removed from game, stripped of all parts on top and bottom sides. Bottom side cleaned and refinished. Lamp wiring on underside of playfield re-routed and tubing added to protect against ball wear and damage (common problem on White Water games).
- Ball lock mechanism removed and fully rebuilt. Optos cleaned for added reliability. Unit welded at crucial stress points for added durability (broken ball lock mechanism is a common problem on White Water games).
- Protective fender washers and extra posts installed on and around various "boulder", or "mountain" parts to protect them from damage from airborne pin balls.
- Protective Mylar covering added to select high-traffic areas on playfields to prevent wear of playfield finish/artwork.
- Factory installed posts in Boulder Garden (pop bumper) area removed (along with original rubber ring) for added ball action. This was an item that was added by factory as last-minute add-on, which kept the ball out of part of the Boulder Garden area (away from right outlane). Removing this obstruction allows more activity of the balls in this area, and better play (the way the game was originally designed to play).
- Big Foot ramp modified to prevent damage on attached switch assembly from airborne balls (common problem on all White Water games).
- Cabinet nicks and scratches touched up, and repainted, where necessary.
- New white nylon gliders installed on back of main cabinet for fresh new look.
- NOS Whirlpool plastic installed. This piece goes behind the Whirlpool on the lower playfield and is commonly broken off on most used White Water games.
- Stainless steel ball guides refinished using our own in-house proprietary process. This removes the ugly "ball marks" from the stainless steel "rails" or "guides" that are found all over the playfield and on sides of lanes. Our process removes the marks and leaves a "like new" finish and look on these rails to restore their "day one" new look.

 | Playfield- overall view. Restoration complete and fully reassembled. |
 | Playfield during restoration. Here's a shot you rarely see- most dealers don't strip a playfield down completely to properly overhaul the game, but it's the only way to get it right and make it look and work like new again. A lot of work, but always worth the effort- that's what keeps us going! Here's the playfield stripped to the bare wood and paint. A few parts being added back on at this stage. Still several full days of hard work to go! |
 | More during the playfield reassembly process. |
 | Detail- lower playfield area. Bottom end of the long "Insanity Falls" ramp is seen on the left here, as well as flippers and slingshot bumpers near bottom of playfield.
Note the brand new reproduced and hard-laminated instruction and pricing cards installed on this game. These not only look great but are resistant to damage that destroys most original unprotected cards. |
 | Detail- looking across playfield from lower left corner. Entrance to the Lost Mine kickout is seen on the left. "Boulder Garden" pop bumper area is in top right. Note some slight wear to the artwork is present around some of the "raft" light inserts in center of playfield from previous years of play and use. The brand new clear Whirlpool, Big Foot, and "Upper to Lower" plastic ramps are also partly visible in this shot. |
 | Looking towards upper left corner of playfield in this shot. Entrances to left ramp, "No Way Out" ball lock lane, and "Diasaster Drop" ramps are seen here. |
 | Overhead view of Whirlpool ramp, upper playfield & flipper, and "Boulder Garden" pop bumpers area. Also the exit from "Bigfoot's Cave". Note all 3 new clear ramps in this shot. Plastic behind Whirlpool ramp is also a new NOS replacement- commonly broken on most used White Water games. |
 | "Big Foot". Here he is, in the upper right corner of the top playfield. Shoot the long "Insanity Falls" ramp to light the Big Foot shot ramp. Shoot the ball to him and watch him knock it away as it rolls past- sending it down into the Whirlpool ramp for one of six different Whirlpool awards!
Complete the Big Foot "Hot Foot" targets on the mail level to distract Big Foot and get the ball past him on the ramp and through his Cave for even bigger points and awards! Not as easy as it sounds!
Note the high quality of the refinishing work done on the stainless steel ball rail just below the Big Foot ramp and under the ramp sign in this shot. All stainless steel ball rails on this game (including ramp entrance protectors) were refinished with our proprietary in-house process which removes ball marks and restores the original "grain" of the metal. This makes the parts look like they just came off the factory assembly line. It doesn't get any better than this! |

 | Detail- some more shots of Big Foot. |
 | Ramp entrance areas on lower playfield. Note the new NOS green "Lite" and "Lock" targets installed here, along with the custom stainless steel ramp protectors directly behind each. These protect the ramp front edges from damage from the targets being hit by balls over time, and lend a very "factory" look to the game. |
 | Under-playfield shot. Note all of the fully cleaned under-playfield surface, including all of the rebuilt assemblies such as flippers, slingshot bumpers, pop bumpers, up-kickers, lamp PC boards, lamps and sockets, ball trough, and more.
Note also the reconditioned under-playfield clear ramp. This takes balls from the Whirlpool to the Lost Mine kickout. Most pinball dealers won't bother to clean anything under the playfield- especially ramps- but they are critical to keeping your game clean. If an under-playfield ramp is left dirty, that dirt soon finds its way back up on to the playfield- tracked there by balls- and makes any prior playfield cleaning a waste of time. Clean everything or don't do it at all! Anything short of this just doesn't cut it! |
Cabinet/Backbox:
Thumbnail (Click for larger view) | Description |
 | Game overall view. |
 | Cabinet- right side. The whole cabinet on this game really shows far below-average signs of use/handling- very few nicks/scratches have been present on any of the cabinet surfaces, and most were touched-up to be less apparent and restore the smooth clean look to the game. Really nice to see a used game in this good of shape after so many years. |
 | Cabinet- left side. Brand new chrome legs, leg levelers, and leg bolts were installed on this game including a set of new black cabinet leg protector pads to help prevent any wear/tear on the game in the future. Really a sharp-looking game after the extra work invested here. |
 | Backbox right and front sides. Note original clear plastic "topper" is present on this game, and fully functional complete with all-working blinking lights and interior mounting and decal. Some minor chips and scratches around backbox edges were touched-up on this game. Backglass translite (art) is in very good condition with only a few small rub marks on back side from normal use/handling over the years. |
 | Backbox left side. |
 | Backbox interior, circuit boards. Boards in this game are in great shape with no apparent signs of previous repair work or "hacks", and all of the board connectors are clean and healthy- no scorched, overheated, or damaged connectors like many used neglected games have.
Note the remote-mount battery connector for the MPU board. This locates the memory-backup batteries off of the valuable circuit board which prevents problems with circuit board damage from batteries should they ever go neglected and burst/leak. Battery holder has a quick-disconnect connector that allows for easy removal of the MPU board, should it ever need service or replacing. |
 | Back side of translite (backglass). A few small scuffs from handling/use over the years are present on this original translite. |
 | Front of main cabinet, coin door. Note coin door has been fully overhauled, restored, and rebuilt, including full tear-down into every individual part/piece, and repainting of the front metal "skin" and molding parts. Fully working coin mechanisms are included in this game for coin-operated play. Game can also be used on "free play" without coins. |
 | Cabinet interior. Interior has been stripped of parts, cleaned, and sides of cabinet walls have been repainted with new coat of semi-gloss black paint- just like original factory process. Note new reproduced hard-laminated "tech chart" stapled to left side wall.
|
Like all pinballs we sell, this machine also comes complete with instruction/operation manual and schematics, and fully functional coin door with all parts present and working. For our local customers, this game also includes delivery, setup, and a full warranty on parts and labor, at no additional charge. For out-of-town customers, we offer our Limited Warranty.
