Replacement 4-piece parts kit for xenon flash tube (strobe light) assembly used in backbox of Bally Flash Gordon pinball.
This kit includes the common replacement parts that typically need replacing in order to rejuvenate the strobe light unit and get it working again.
Includes the following parts:- Replacement xenon flash tube with wire leads # XFT1 (aftermarket replacement)
- Flash tube charging capacitors (2) # CAP22UF250VAXL
- Instructions for mounting/connecting replacement flash tube.
NOTES:- This kit does not include all parts used on the strobe light assembly. If you need any parts that are not described or included in this kit, please order separately, or contact us if you need assistance.
- Requires moderate skills with electronic component handling and replacement including soldering/desoldering.
- New flash tube included in this kit is an aftermarket replacement and differs in size/shape and connections from obsolete original. Instructions for mounting and connecting this replacement tube are included and also shown below (see additional images).
- New flash tube includes wire leads in original factory colors (see following note) that can be soldered directly to the PC board (recommended), or spliced to existing wire leads of same color using wire nuts or heat shrink tubing (both sold separately).
- Some games may have differently-colored wiring for the flash tube due to factory shortages of original colors, or past repair work that may have been done on your game. See additional image below for proper connection of wires on new unit to PC board.
- See additional images below for suggested mounting of this replacement tube on the factory metal bracket, as well as wiring connections.
- WARNING: Very high voltages are present on the strobe light assembly in this game, even when power has been turned off. Allow at least 5 minutes after power-off for components to discharge naturally to a save level before handling or servicing.
- SUGGESTIONS: If the strobe light in your game still does not work after replacing the xenon flash tube and capacitors, ensure that you have 110 to 135 volts AC at the appropriate pins on the input connector, as well as 6 volts DC on the switched illumination buss wire (blue), and that your Auxiliary Lamp Driver unit is working so that it can activate the strobe light. The strobe light should blink 4 times at the end of game power-up, as it goes into attract mode, waiting to be played, so you can check for this to confirm operation.
