Short spring for drop targets on many older Bally and Bally/Midway games from mid-1970s through late 1980s. Coiled section measures 9/16-inch long x 1/4-inch diameter. Fits with Bally drop target # A-3944 or A-3773.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Bally made 2 different springs for drop targets- a short spring (this one- part #10-279-314 or #SP-100-314-S), and a long spring SP-100-314-L. The short one (this one) mounts between the drop target and the spring bracket bar mounted halfway up in the drop target assembly. Not all games had the spring bracket bar with these short springs. Games that did not have the spring bracket bar had the longer version of this spring which mounted between the drop target and the metal reset link arm at the bottom of the drop target. For reference, spring bracket is Bally part # P-1350-9 (item # 11 in 1st illustration below). Reset link is Bally part # P-1973-418 (see 2nd illustration below).
