Replacement coil stop for flipper assemblies on many Data East and early Sega games (through Batman Forever- see game listing below).
Fits games using flipper assembly # 500-5606-74 (left) and # 500-5606-73 (right) and/or baseplate # 515-5077-01 (left) and # 515-5077-02 (right).
Also replaces Data East # 515-5086-00 (see note below) and # 515-5346-12.
NOTE: This is a new aftermarket replacement coil stop which replaces the old obsolete original Data East coil stops that were made decades ago, and which are no longer available.
This new stop DOES NOT INCLUDE A NOTCH IN THE TOP/CENTER of the stop to accommodate the back of the coil, like the original Data East part did.
Using this new stop will require that your flipper coil is MOUNTED IN REVERSE DIRECTION (so that the solder lugs and wires are AWAY from the coil stop).
The front bracket on your flipper baseplate should have a notch which will allow the coil to be mounted in reverse direction.
This is actually the better way to mount flipper coils, as it gets the solder lugs, wires, and diode away from the coil stop, where the majority of vibrations occur, which cause the wires/lugs/diodes to crack and break prematurely.
Later-model games all came from the factory with coils mounted in this orientation to help reduce breakage of these parts on the coil.
