This chip requires external clock circuitry which is built-in to boards that are designed to use it.
Not interchangeable with 6809, 68A09, or 68B09.
This is the main processor chip for MPU boards in late-model Bally/Williams WPC games, Bally/Midway Turbo Cheap Squeak pinball sound boards, and Stern Whitestar games (see game listing below).
Brand, and exact part number, may vary depending on availability (68B09E or 68B09EP - 'P' suffix indicates plastic package, which is the same as 68B09E, and what the majority of chips are made of).
Replacement for # 68B09E, 68B09EP, Bally/Williams # 5400-10320-00, Stern # 960-5023-00, Hitachi # HD68B09EP, Motorola # MC68B09EP, SGS Thompson # EF68B09EP, ST Micro # EF68B09EP, and possible others.
Fits in 40-pin socket on board (Bally/Williams part # 5700-08985-00).
