Replacement for obsolete 74HCT9114N DIP-20 IC. This assembly includes a modern surface-mount version of the 74HCT9114 IC mounted on an adapter PCB with DIP pins on the underside which mount in the original chip location on your board.
Comes with a 20-pin low-profile chip socket for optional installation (strongly recommended- makes future removal/replacement quick and easy - see note below).
Ships fully assembled- ready to install.
For switch matrix driver/buffer on Rottendog MPU327-2 boards which are a replacement for original MPU/driver boards in Williams Level 3 - Level 7 games 1977-1984.
Common failure item- grab a few for spares!
NOTES:- WARRANTY: There is no warranty on this electronic item due to application in older games where electronic problems can commonly cause damage to, and failure of, the chip on this adapter. Adapters are game-tested to confirm 100% operation before shipping.
- REPLACEMENT CHIP: If you have a failure of the chip on this adapter and the ability/equipment to replace a SMT chip, you can order # 74HCT9114D and replace on your own, without having to buy a new pre-built assembly.
- CHIP SOCKET: Installation is optional, but strongly recommended. This adapter will not work with machined-pin chip sockets. Use only the included standard 20-pin low-profile chip socket, with adapter firmly seated in socket.
