Drop Target Wiper Contact Switch - Horseshoe (Williams) (SEE NOTES):

Brass horse shoe shaped wiper contact for drop targets on some early Williams electronic solid-state (SS) games (see game listing below).
Replaces older part # A-7941 which is the same thing, but A-7614 has smaller contact points.
Fits/works along with # A-7969-2 drop target PC board, and # 01-5831-1 contact backing plate (each sold separately).
NOTES:- This wiper contact is right-sided, and NOT the same as the one for score reels in earlier electro-mechanical (EM) Williams games, which is left-sided. This contact is the opposite shape of the score reel contact (mirror-image), and is not interchangeable.
- This new part ships FLAT and will need to have contacts bent outward slightly after installation on the target. This will provide light tension on the target PC board to ensure proper operation. Bending contacts too far outward will prevent the drop target from falling freely. Not enough bend may allow target to fall, but not score.
- We STRONGLY recommend using DeOxit anti-oxidant compound on the contact points on this wiper to increase reliability (DeOxit sold separately).
- The Williams drop target design that this contact switch fits on requires regular periodic maintenance for proper operation. This means removing drop target units, disassembling, and cleaning contacts on a regular basis- anywhere from a few days/weeks, to up to 6 months at a time. This is just due to Williams' design of the system, and new replacement parts will not get around the maintenance. Williams changed the drop targets in their games shortly after this era to a more reliable design (parts not compatible between the two designs). We STRONGLY recommend using DeOxit anti-oxidant compound on the contact points on this wiper contact to maximize reliability, and minimize the required periodic maintenance (DeOxit sold separately).
