16k nonvolatile memory chip with internal battery backup. 24 pin DIP package.

Replaces 6116 RAM chip and AA batteries. Does not require external batteries to retain memory, will not leak, and has an unlimited number of read and write cycles.

Internal battery is activated at installation/power-up and manufacturer specifies a 10-year memory retention on this chip. 120ns access time.
