Upgrade your outdated factory-original fluorescent backbox light to modern LED! This 24-inch LED tube kit replaces the original fluorescent tube in late Sega and early Stern Pinball games (with minor wiring modifications- see note below).
Many benefits including average 50,000 hour lifespan, less energy consumption, lower heat, and no UV emissions that typically damage nearby circuit boards, wiring, and wiring connectors.
Neutral white 5000k lumens (between warm and cool white- see lighting example below). T8 diameter (1-inch), 8-watts.
Great replacement for late-model Sega and Stern pinball games that originally came with a fluorescent tube. The UV light from fluorescent tubes desiccates and bleaches nearby parts after long-term exposure, so if your MPU board, wiring harnesses, and wiring connectors look bleached, dried-out, and/or connectors are crumbling to pieces when you touch them, then you have UV damage from the games original fluorescent tube. LED replacements avoid this damage.
NOTES: - This kit requires minor wiring modifications to be made to your game (instructions and wiring diagram are included).
- Modifications consist of cutting 4 wires in the backbox, stripping cut wire ends, and connecting them per the instructions using the included wire nuts.
- Wires to fluorescent starter and ballast are bypassed using wire nuts included in the kit.
- If you are not comfortable making the necessary wiring modifications, we recommend enlisting a qualified helper to do the work for you.
- The LED tube in this kit is designed for single-ended power, meaning this tube has a live pin and a neutral pin on the same end (pins on other end of tube are non-functional). If using in something other than a late Sega or early Stern Pinball game, you must confirm that you have a non-shunted socket on one end of the tube for power, otherwise this lamp will not work (see additional image below. Sega and Stern pinballs already have non-shunted sockets).
With necessary modifications, replaces Data East # 265-5013-00, Sega/Stern #s 165-5031-02, 165-5061-00, F20T9CW, and similar others.
