Coil for pop bumpers, slingshot bumpers, and similar devices in early/mid 1970s Williams electro-mechanical (EM) games for DC (rectified) circuits.
Can be operated in AC (non-rectified circuits) if coil does not have a diode installed across it's solder lugs (see below for more info).
Includes standard coil sleeve # 03-7066.
NOTES: - Available with or without diode (select above when ordering- ships WITH diode by default).
- This coil shipped in games from the factory both with, and without, a diode installed across it's solder lugs (same coil part number for either configuration- this is not typical for coils...)
- We recommend checking your old coil(s) before ordering, to see if they have a diode or not, and order accordingly.
- If you are using this coil in an AC (non-rectified) circuit, the coil must not have a diode. If it does, it will short and blow fuses.
- If you are using this coil in a DC (rectified) circuit, a diode is recommended, but not absolutely necessary. A diode across the coil lugs in a DC circuit helps extend the life of the DC rectifier that supplies power to the coils.
- Observe correct polarity when connecting wires to a coil with a diode: Power (positive) wire must connect to coil lug that has diode's cathode (banded) end attached. Ground (negative) wire will connect to lug with diode's anode (non-banded) end. Reversing wires will short the coil diode and blow fuses.
