Varistor for incoming power line where power cord first connects inside the game. Protects game electronics from excessive voltage.
Installs across main power line leads inside the game- either on top of the exposed line filter box in the cabinet (most older models), or inside power interface box in front corner of game (most later models).
For electronic models approx. 1977 and up which are operated at approx. 220vac (line voltage in Europe and some other markets).
This metal-oxide varistor shorts itself out if the line voltage going into your game reaches or exceeds 230 volts AC. This prevents spikes, or surges in power, from damaging valuable circuit boards and electronics.
Replaces original Bally part # E-713-1, Data East/Sega/Stern # 150-5002-00, TRM15G431KM, and others.
