This manual provides an in-depth overview of low-level operation of the AS-2518-17 and AS-2518-35 MPU boards used in early Bally solid-state (SS) pinball games from 1977-1985. it discusses what goes on behind each of the LED flashes during game startup/self-test, game initialization, game play normal mode and CPU and display interrupts. Self-diagnostic test procedures and opearation of the solenoid driver module are also covered, and some IC parts listing information is also included. Great reference for any pinball owner trying his hand at low-level diagnosis and repair of MPU board issues.
