Electronic Pinball Games Repair Procedures #FO-560-1 (July, 1978). 72 pages. For use with electronic solid-state (SS) Bally pinball games made between 1977 - mid 1978 (6800 processor-based games w/ MPU board -17, -35). See Sound Board Notes, and game listing, below.
This manual covers electronic circuit board and score display diagnostics, some basic high-level board repair procedures, and board replacement.
It includes about 3 times more info than what is found in your individual game manual. MPU self-test procedures, basic troubleshooting flow charts, and board diagrams/part listings (as found in individual game manual) are included in this manual, with the addition of many more in-depth symptom/cause diagnostic/repair procedures for each of the circuit boards and score displays.
Previous edition of this manual (FO-560) has all its info included in this newer edition, as well as additional and updated info, and new sections on the 1st and 2nd generation electronic sound boards (see Sound Board Notes below).
NOTES: Some of the procedures in this manual involve the use of the Bally "AID" or "AID1" module. AID was a small factory-produced add-on circuit board (module) that plugged in to connector J5 at the top of the MPU board. The AID modules are no longer produced, so some of the info in this manual involving their use may not be of use to you.
SOUND BOARD NOTES: Info on 1st and 2nd generation Bally sound boards can be found in this manual, including original tone sound boards (KISS, Paragon, Six Million Dollar Man, etc.), and processor-based sound boards (Lost World, Silverball Mania, Space Invaders, etc.) If you need info on the later Squawk & Talk sound/speech board, or Say-It-Again sound module, both found in later-model games, see manual # FO-560-3 instead.
NOTE: No returns on Paperwork Items - all sales final.
