5-piece ribbon cable set comprised of the inter-board cables used in some Bally/Williams WPC-89 games made between approx. 1990 and 1992 (see game listing below).
Set includes the following cables:- 3pcs of # 5795-12653-03: 2-connector, 34-pin, 3-3/4-inch (1x for MPU-to-Power/Driver) (2x for Display Driver to Display PCB)
- 1pc of # 5795-12653-12: 2-connector, 34-pin, 12-inch (MPU, WPC Sound Board)
- 1pc of # 5795-10938-30: 2-connector, 26-pin, 30-inch (MPU, Display Driver)
Common to have to replace ribbon cables when connections in the housings become intermittent from oxidation and/or corrosion from exposure to humidity over long periods (such as on games re-imported from overseas that have been exposed to moisture during shipping from sea water mist). Bad ribbon cable connections can cause erratic game operation- symptoms from no-boot, to flippers/sound cutting out, display issues, sporadic unexplained freak outs, and more. If your game has these symptoms, it may need new ribbon cables.
We strongly recommend using DeOxit anti-oxidant/lubricant compound on the pins that this ribbon cable connects to, to help prevent oxidation and add lubrication that reduces stress on circuit boards when connectors are removed/reseated.
